Scouting
and Guiding has for decades been an integral part of Winchester Road Church.
In March 1994, we became a Family Group, a move which united the Guiding
and Scouting sections that meet on Church premises and gave them a real
sense of belonging both to each other and to the Church.
Scouting and Guiding aim to promote the development of young people in achieving their physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials and encourages them to work as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. This aim is achieved through an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training which is based on a Promise and Laws and is guided by adult leadership. The Group Scout Leader, Alan Langley and Group Guide Leader Maureen Duncan will be pleased to discuss any aspect of Guiding and Scouting in the Family Group. New members are greatly welcomed when vacancies arise and adult helpers are always in demand. |
