House Groups

Friday afternoon Group, meets first Friday in each month 3.00pm.
The group studies the Bible which sometimes we find quite hard, but we do enjoy real fellowship together. At meetings a collection is taken which enables the group to send flowers to anyone who falls sick or to be able to mark a special birthday. We also give to charities.

Friday evening Group, meets every other week, 8.00-10.0pm at various homes.
Various books of the Bible are chosen for study by the group. The group seeks to apply the insights gained to their own lives. Time is spent in prayer and quietness. The meeting finishes with coffee.

'Hollywood Way' House Group
This house group which normally meets once a month at the home of Lindy and Peter Richardson has about half a dozen regular attendees. The meetings start at 8.00pm and there is usually a a topic for discussion. In recent months the group has been looking at well-known people from the Bible. However there is always opportunity to consider any other subject if it is interesting to those present.

Scout and Guide Family Group

Scouting and Guiding has for decades been an integral part of Winchester Road Church. In March 1994, we became a Family Group, a move which united the Guiding and Scouting sections that meet on Church premises and gave them a real sense of belonging both to each other and to the Church.
Scouting and Guiding aim to promote the development of young people in achieving their physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials and encourages them to work as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. This aim is achieved through an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training which is based on a Promise and Laws and is guided by adult leadership.
The Group Scout Leader, Alan Langley and Group Guide Leader Maureen Duncan will be pleased to discuss any aspect of Guiding and Scouting in the Family Group. New members are greatly welcomed when vacancies arise and adult helpers are always in demand.
